Terrence Foster

Head Coach / Offensive Coordinator

Terrence Foster joined the Jersey Flight in October, 2019 as the organization transitioned into the National Arena League. Foster oversees all of the Flight’s football operations. Foster is an integral part of the team’s community involvement and is dedicated to making the organization a positive impact for the Trenton community. Foster has coached in Arena Football since 2009. In his most recent roles, Foster was the defensive coordinator for the Cape Fear Heroes and the offensive coordinator for the High Country Grizzlies. Prior to his coaching career Foster was an accomplished player at both the collegiate and professional level. In college, Foster was a team captain at Grand Valley State University under head coach Brian Kelly. Kelly is currently the head coach at Notre Dame University. Following his college career Foster played in the Arena Football League with the Grand Rapids Rampage. While with the Rampage Foster was teammates with Arena Football hall of famer and long time Philadelphia Soul head coach Clint Dolezel. Foster went on to play in the AF2 with the Green Bay Blizzard and multiple other teams before his coaching career began.

Alvin Ray Jackson

Defensive Coordinator

Alvin Ray Jackson joins the Flight coaching staff after an illustrious career as a jack linebacker. Jackson began his arena football career in 2006 and played all the way through 2019. During his career he recorded 404 tackles and 42 interceptions on ten different teams. Jackson was named to 1st Team All-Arena three times during his career. Jackson recorded a career high 14 interceptions with the New Orleans Voodoo in 2012. Jackson was a member of the Jacksonville Sharks during the 2015 ArenaBowl run. In 2018 he won the ArenaBowl with the Washington Valor, where he was teammates with Flight QB Warren Smith and DB Svante Davenport. Jackson began his coaching career in 2013 at Fort Valley State University. He coached the WR’s and the kick return unit.

Danny Foster

Quality Control / Defensive Line

Danny Foster has been involved with football and athletic programs for over 40 years. He brings 20 plus years of experience as a Head Football and Track and Field coach. Successful track record of managing athletic programs, recruiting, developing talent, and winning championships.

At an early age, he began playing little league football for the historic West Side Cubs in Detroit, MI and continued playing throughout high school and early adulthood. His talent as an all-star football player and talented sprinter and hurdler led him to playing in college and on the professional level. After completing his playing career, he coached little league, high school, and on the collegiate level (Wayne State University). Additionally, he coached Arena football in Detroit, Michigan with his sons Lawrence and Head Coach Terry. Danny's commitment and passion in coaching has inspired action and motivation to his teams and staff members. He believes that sports build character and confidence but also gives his players a sense of accomplishment.

Danny is an alumnus of Wayne State University. He is a member and actively involved in two brotherhoods, Phi Beta Sigma and Masonry. He is now retired as a Social Worker with over 30 years of experience making a difference in people's lives.

Stacy Johnson

Offensive Assistant

Stacy Johnson returns to the Flight coaching staff after working with the team in 2019. Johnson is a Woodrow Wilson Sports Hall of Fame inductee and was the Class President in 1975. He was named to the South Jersey Football All Decade team. Johnson is also a World Martial Arts, World Karate Union, and United States Powerlifting Hall of Famer. He is a 7th Degree Black Belt in Martial Arts. He is a board member with the New Jersey Black Belt Association, Camden County O.E.O, and the Camden City Alcohol Beverage Control. Johnson was awarded the Camden County MLK Freedom Award in 2021.

Dr. Joseph E. Woods

Team Chaplain

Celebrating twenty-five years of pastoral experience, Dr. Joseph E. Woods is the current and seventh pastor of the Saint Phillips Baptist Church of Hamilton, New Jersey, which was established in 1920. With a decade of service to Saint Phillips, the church has experienced significant spiritual, fiscal, and numerical growth under his progressive and prophetic oversight. The church has become more diverse under his leadership and continues to be a great beacon throughout the community.

His servant leadership extends beyond the church. He is a viable, vocal, visible, and visionary leader in Hamilton, NJ and beyond. He is well-respected across religious, social, economic, educational, and political spectrums. He leadership in Hamilton, in particular, is extensive. He serves as an advisor to the current, democratic mayor of Hamilton in the area of Community Development and Non-Profit work, and served the previous, republican mayor as an advisor in the area of Economic Development while receiving bi-partisan support to become a commissioner on the Hamilton Township Economic Development Advisory Commission. He is current Chairman of the District Community Relations Committee for the Hamilton School District and past Board President of the John O. Wilson Community Center. He formerly served as Civil Rights Commissioner of Montclair, NJ , Housing Authority Commissioner for Morris County, NJ, and Founder/Executive Director of the Eagle’s Community Empowerment Center that included providing services to students with long-term suspension from local public schools in Vance County, NC. He is the Founder and Moderator of the Higher Ground Association of Baptist Churches, Inc., and has served the General Baptist Convention of NJ, with honor and distinction, as Executive Assistant to the President, General Secretary, and State Director of Christian Education. He has served as an instructor to the National Baptist Congress of Christian Education, and also served on three boards with the National Baptist Convention. In addition, Pastor Woods has over forty spiritual sons and daughters in the gospel ministry, with nearly a dozen of them serving as pastors in New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, and Georgia.

Dr. Woods holds four earned collegiate degrees, all with honors, culminating with a Doctorate of Biblical Studies in Biblical Counseling in 2007 where his dissertation focused on how to reach “street-smart youth” with nouthetic counseling. He has also authored three books.

God’s hand is upon the life of Joseph E. Woods as witnessed through his many awards and accomplishments, as well as the multitudes touched by his life, ministry, and service. He is a native of Montclair, New Jersey and now resides in Columbus, New Jersey with his wife Heather; they have four children and one grandchild.

Team Reporter

Matthew Kass joined the Jersey Flight in March of 2020 and is currently serving as the Team Reporter for the organization. As Team Reporter, he files game recap and feature stories on the team. Prior to his time with the Flight, Kass covered the Philadelphia Soul for Arena Insider in 2018 and 2019. In his primary job, Kass serves as a Copywriter with FOCO. He graduated from Rowan University in 2018 with a degree in Journalism. As a college senior, he edited the news section of The Whit, his university paper. Kass also previously served as the PR Director for the Flight.

Aleesa Tucker

Dance Team Coach

Aleesa Tucker’s love for dance started when she was just six years old. She has received dance training in multiple genres including jazz, tap, hip hop, ballet contemporary and modern. Aleesa continued her training into college where she was a member of the Stockton Dance Company and had the privilege of performing, choreographing and training with numerous influential choreographers.

One of Aleesa’s goals is to bring back the importance of the arts in nationwide school systems. For several years, she has worked and studied vigorously about the educational system. During her journey she has earned many amazing recognitions including a New Jersey teaching certification in dance, an education of dance award from Temple University’s Boyer College, and a Masters of Science in Education from Purdue University. Aleesa is currently the dance instructor at a private institute called Christina Seix Academy, a boarding school serving our youth in Trenton where she started the first dance program.

No stranger to the National Arena League, Aleesa served as a member and captain with the Trenton Freedom Xtreme Dance Team of the Trenton Freedom Fighters from 2014-2016. She is thrilled to be apart of the Jersey Flight family and is looking to amaze the crowd with her talent.

Nick Kosko

Play by Play Broadcaster

Nick Kosko joins the Jersey Flight after spending the 2019 season as the Atlantic City Blackjacks play by play voice. He called the season alongside former AFL player Jason “Coffee” Jones. Kosko is currently the broadcaster for Rutgers University Wrestling, as well as high school football games across South Jersey. He is a writer at 247Sports and hosts a show on 1490 Sports Betting Radio. He graduated from Rutgers University.

Lisa Roman

Sideline Reporter

Lisa Roman is a sports reporter, host, broadcaster and producer. She has worked as a professional soccer analyst for NWSL and USL as well as a sideline reporter for college football, the Big East Digital Network, the Ivy League Network, ESPN and NBCSports. Born and raised outside of Philadelphia, Lisa attended Marquette University to pursue journalism while playing Division I soccer. Lisa is proud to return to her home to cover local teams. In 2019, Lisa was the team reporter for the Eastern League Champions the Trenton Thunder, the former Double-A Affiliate of the NY Yankees.

Nelson currently announces for the New Jersey Titans of the NAHL and NA3HL, Rutgers University, St. Thomas Aquinas College (sprint football) among other colleges and professional teams throughout New Jersey and the NY metropolitan area. He is formerly a Public Address Announcer for the Harlem Globetrotters. Nelson attended Rowan University and Hightstown High School in New Jersey.
